The Story of GoGo-May's

About Us

Ella Maberry

Hi, I'm Ella! I'm 21 years old and I grew up in Alton, Illinois. I got my start in the restaurant industry working in the front of house. I quickly discovered just how much I love making people smile!

Kurt Gogolowski

Hey, I'm Kurt! I'm 25 years old and from Bethalto, Illinois. I've been working in the restaurant industry for 10 years, and realized the back of house is where I belong. I love creating a sense of family through my food and culture.

What's in the Name?

GoGo-May's isn't just a combination of their names- Gogolowski and Maberry- it's a combination of who they are. The name "GoGo-May's" represents quality, consistency, and kindness.

How It's Going...

Ella and Kurt have always had a dream of operating their restaurant at a place where they can create a unique experience. It felt like fate when the diner in Wood River presented itself to them. They knew they had to expand and start making their big dreams a reality.

How It Started...

Ella and Kurt met while working together in Grafton, Illinois. After a few years, an opportunity to start their own business presented itself. Of course, they took advantage! GoGo-May's a local favorite ice cream and lunch spot, was born.
